Listen and repeat, listen an repeat...

New words and expressions:

What are you struggling with?
They feel stuck at the same ability level.
Can you relate to these feelings?
Parrot the accent.
Over and over.
Let go of the fear of sounding stupid.
It's all up to me.
Imagine yourself speaking English at a good pace.
Hold onto that feeling.
Don't give up on that.
No more procrastination.

Think in English

In the Ghetto

As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries
'cause if there's one thing that she don't need
it's another hungry mouth to feed
In the ghetto

People, don't you understand
the child needs a helping hand
or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me,
are we too blind to see,
do we simply turn our heads
and look the other way

Well the world turns
and a hungry little boy with a runny nose
plays in the street as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto

And his hunger burns
so he starts to roam the streets at night
and he learns how to steal
and he learns how to fight
In the ghetto

Then one night in desperation
a young man breaks away
He buys a gun, steals a car,
tries to run, but he don't get far
And his mama cries

As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
face down on the street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto

As her young man dies,
on a cold and gray Chicago mornin',
another little baby child is born
In the ghetto
As his mama cries.

We can work it out

Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on?
While you see it your way
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone
We can work it out
We can work it out

Think of what you're saying
You can get it wrong and still you think that it's allright
Think of what I'm saying
We can work it out and get it straight, or say good night
We can work it out
We can work it out

Life is very short, and there's no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that it's a crime
So, I will ask you once again

Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There's a chance that we might fall apart before too long
We can work it out
We can work it out

New words and expressions:

Work out or work (sth) out
Fussing and fighting
Till = until
Fall apart

When I'm sixty four

When I get older, losing my hair many years from now,
will you still be sending me a valentine,
birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out till quarter to three, would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm sixty four?

You'll be older too; and if you say the word,
I could stay with you.

I could be handy mending a fuse when your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside;
Sunday mornings go for a ride.
Doing the garden, digging the weeds; who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm sixty four?

Ev'ry summer we can rent a cottage on the Isle of Wight
if it's not too dear. We will scrimp and save
(We will need to save, I fear).
Grandchildren on your knee: Vera, Chuck, and Dave.

Send me a postcard, drop me a line stating point of view.
Indicate precisely what you mean to say;
Yours Sincerely wasting away.
Give me your answer, fill in a form; yours forever more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm sixty four?

Hey, Jude

Hey, Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

Hey, Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better.

And any time you feel the pain, hey, Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder
Nah nah nah nah nah

Hey, Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
Remember, to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

So let it out and let it in, hey, Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Nah nah nah nah nah

Hey, Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your skin
Then you begin to make it better
Better better better

New words and expressions

Carry the world upon yours shoulders
Let it out and let it in

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky

Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too

Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
